Really disappointed in the service at this hotel. The staff, aside from one young girl at the front desk, were extremely rude to my family who traveled very far for a wedding. We had the hardest time booking rooms. Vivian was very hard to get ahold of on the phone. We would leave messages and she would never return our calls. We had parking passes but they threatened to tow our vehicles the day of the wedding. They threatened to call the police on us when they heard one of our family members was going to go to the pub that night. We had a very sick man with cancer get told he didn't look like he was handicap. The rooms were extremely hot. Overall bad experience and I would Never recommend this hotel to a person again.
We had breakfast at the restaurant on the ground floor. Simple food. Order at the counter then they bring it. Their potatoes are very good!
Great hotel, the room was way better than I expected. Our balcony overlooked the water and it was beatiful. The only thing I saw that was a negative is very small tub and if you are tall the shower head is very low I am 5 ft tall and it was short to me. Other than that this is a very beautiful place. I included pictures and pictures of the river walk which is practically outside the door. They also have a free trolley that takes you into the village. The beach has a nice boardwalk, 2 piers and wheel chair access all the way to the water.
Quiet little vintage hotel on the river in york town. Room was clean except for air system. System filter had what looked like mold all in it.
We stayed here the weekend of our son's wedding. The rooms are clean and nice but their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Needless to say emotions run high at a wedding and you want everything to go perfectly. They would not let anyone check in before 3 o'clock on the day of the wedding and the wedding was at four so if you wanted to have a room to get ready, you had to check in the day before. The maid on the third floor was excellent she smiled, gave great customer service she was a bright spot in the entire visit. Chris the waiter in the restaurant was also very pleasant but the restaurant's not owned by the hotel Chris was another bright spot of our stay. As my son said, they're not very accommodating because they don't have to be they are the only hotel right on the water. They are very convenient to the venue, they just aren't interested in helping to reduce your stress level. The desk clerk was from Vegas and acted like she was from Vegas she told us how friendly she could be however she wasn't being friendly at the moment because she was overwhelmed by 3 o'clock check-in's. if they were allowed people to check in as they got rooms cleaned they would relieve a lot less stress on the guests. Also had other dealings with her when she was not busy and still the same rude Vegas attitude. There are a couple of bed-and-breakfast in the area that overlook the York River I would suggest if you need a room that you deal with them. They rented out one of our guest's room to someone else even though it was reserved for our guest. They just don't seem to have what it takes to deal with the general public even though they've been there for years. I believe their entire business is just because they are convenient to the York River nothing to do with their customer service. I left a message for the owner or manager to call me so I could give them this review up close and personal and not put it on Google it's been a week and I still have heard nothing. They are not interested in your complaints or improving their service try to find somewhere else even if it's further away from the venue your visit will go much smoother.
