Stayed overnight for a family event in town. Prices were reasonable, service was excellent, rooms were clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place in Yorktown.
The rooms stink and are dirty. There was a used wash cloth in the bathtub. The bed was harder than the floor. At first I was annoyed there was no ice bucket, but then after seeing they charge to use the ice machine, seriously? And it's August and the pool isn't open, and doesn't look like it has been all summer. Please dont waste your time coming here.
If you just need a bed with a roof over it for cheap, then this is your place. Otherwise, STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE. My company had me stay here for over a month on training because of its location and $$$, but never in a million years would I stay here by choice. This place is BUG INFESTED. You wake up in the morning and turn on the bathroom light to find bugs everywhere. Also, they allow a bunch of riff-raff to live here long term so every night around 1-2 AM there are people screaming at each other and threatening each other right outside of your door. Police were here so many times at night I can't even count, and I was glad that I had my firearm with me. The trash cans are NEVER emptied. Do yourself a favor and pay the extra $50-$75 to stay somewhere else.
I have stayed in several different cheap motels over the years. Vast majority are crappy, dirty, run down, have trashy people that yell constantly and smell like smoke even in the "non-smoking room". I was very pleased that the Yorktown Motor Lodge was not like that. Though it was cheap, it was clean, quite actually smelled nice and had very friendly staff. I am a young female and was traveling alone, i felt safe the entire time I was there. If you are looking to travel on a budget, i would for sure go here!
My husband and I needed a place to lay our heads for a few hours and didn't want to pay a lot for a motel. The first room was dirty, no soap we called to get batteries for the remote control. The clerk brought batteries, but the tv did not work. She put us in another room. It was worse than the first. The walls were dirty. The furniture dirty and stained. The room had not been vacuumed or dusted in a long while. There were no wash clothes. We layed down to try and get some sleep and noticed roaches. Needless to say, we didn't get much sleep and we left very early. Their advertising of clean, comfortable rooms is not true. My nephew said, it was a roach motel 30 years ago when he stayed there. He said the roaches should be on walkers by now.LOL BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY THIS PLACE IS DISGUSTING.
